Harvest Church of the Nazarene

Fall Revival

Nov. 14-18

7pm Thurs.-Sat.
Morning and Evening Worship Sunday

David Canen

From November 14-18 our Revival will be blessed by the leadership of the Reverend David Canen, a tenured, commissioned, Nazarene evangelist.  Reverend Canen was born and raised in Berne, Indiana. He has spent the past 48 years serving the Lord first pastoring churches and then, for the past 28 years, as a full-time evangelist. He has been with us in Georgia since 1975.  Reverend Canen currently lives in East Dublin, GA and will be coming to us along with his new bride, Ms. Vera.  Some of you will remember his quite remarkable and vivacious first wife, Miss Ann, who went to be with the Lord in 2005.  We can’t wait to welcome Ms. Vera and to rejoice with Reverend Canen that the Lord has blessed him with not just one but two Godly wives.

Reverend Canen is a life-long Nazarene who believes whole-heartedly in the distinctive emphasis our church places on the doctrines of holiness and entire sanctification.  He likes revivals best because he believes they help people see the value and reality of holiness living and he rejoices in seeing Nazarenes grow in their faith.  In a brief interview earlier this month, he said his favorite part of revivals is when the Holy Spirit is able to move in, take control and “every person present is aware of the manifest presence of God.”  He said, “If you ever experience it, the manifest presence of God, it’s something you will desire and pray for again and again.”  He says he’s seen, “amazing things happen when that happens in terms of people’s relationship to Christ: emotional and physical healing, interpersonal healing, relationships growing stronger together.”

He would ask us in advance of our Revival to pray for personal sensitivity to the directives of the Holy Spirit and to be willing to readily obey the Lord.  He also asks that we reach out and touch someone who hasn’t known the reality of Christ and invite them to share this upcoming time of renewal and revival.

Join us from November 14 – 18.  Services will begin at 7 p.m. each evening and will continue in both the Morning Worship and Sunday Evening Services on the 18th. Please also join us for an Afterglow following the closing service on Sunday evening.
